We decided to incorporate our senior project into a SkilsUSA project. I also decided to incorporate this idea into my business. We are planning to compete in Career Pathway Showcase: Industrial Engineering Technology. This is one of the events we have in store in order to spread awareness and spread the ideas of using bivalves as filters in Wastewater Treatment Plants.

Our project: SkillsUSA

Note: We are also currently working on another site regarding the community aspect of our project. When we finish it, we will gladly link it up to this site as well if you wanna check it out!

Fun Facts:

Sources we loved:

  • Most bivalves filter feed, however there are some bivalves that are carnivorous.

  • In Wastewater treatment, physical, biological, and chemicals filtration is used throughout the plant.

  • Wastewater contains nitrogen & phosphates that encourage algae growth.
